A Black Flower special. Purchase two books for $80 and share a copy of this garden with your sweetheart or loved one. Or pair up with a friend and get a deal. We want to make these books as accessible as possible. The Garden of Dreams, Black Flower’s second group volume, is a creative exploration on dreaming by 75 artists. Building off of The Promise of Spring, as a longing for something, The Garden of Dreams explores the deep unconscious space of dreams and visions. Artists were asked to submit visual and literary art that they made in conversation with their night-time dreams or waking visions. As you flip through its pages, a mysterious dive into the human unconscious emerges that tells of longings for home, remembrances of childhood, fearful visions of shadow, and glimpses of the divine.

The Garden of Dreams, Black Flower's second group volume, is a creative exploration on dreaming by 75 artists. What started as the people of Black Flower tracking their dreams and sharing them with each other, has coalesced as The Garden of Dreams you see today. We asked artists to submit work they made in conversation with their dreams. We curated 75 of these artists and sequenced their work into a mysterious narrative and experience. As you flip through its pages, a dive into the human unconscious emerges that tells of longings for home, remembrances of childhood, fearful visions of shadow, and glimpses of the divine.
With this volume, we have attempted to carefully tend our community’s dream and create a garden for them to live, grow, and fruit. As this collection ages, we imagine that so too will our understanding. Browse the collection whichever way feels right for you and listen to, more than anything, what feelings and memories sprout in your body as you flip its pages. We set out to pull together our community’s creative adaptations of their dreams into a cohesive book. We hope to have woven a glimpse of our collective dream and what we are, together, deeply longing for.
As our mentors encourage: stay in the mystery of the dream, allow the image to be the gift. Here, we can remain in the unknowing wonder of our wild and precious life.
